Antisocial behaviour

What is ASB?

We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable on our estate and we work hard to tackle any antisocial behaviour in our community. We ask that everyone who lives or visits our neighbourhood acts in a responsible and respectful manner.

All tenants and leaseholders on the Gloucester Grove estate are responsible for ensuring that people living or visiting their property do not cause a nuisance to others. This means, making sure that everyone (including children and pets) do not interfere with the quality of life of your neighbours and others in the community.

Antisocial behaviour includes:

  • Being abusive, insulting or threatening;
  • Vandalising property;
  • Being drunk and offensive;
  • Bullying or harassing someone;
  • Arguing and shouting persistently;
  • Causing a lot of noise (e.g. slamming doors or playing loud music);
  • Carrying out noisy DIY at unsociable hours;
  • Barking dogs and failing to clean up after your dog;
  • Dumping rubbish;
  • Speeding and dangerous driving around the estate;
  • Using a Gloucester Grove TMO home for criminal activity.

How we tackle ASB

We do not stand for antisocial behaviour on our estate and can and do take action against troublemakers. Antisocial behaviour is a breach of your tenancy/leasehold and can ultimately result in eviction, fines and legal action.

The process of an antisocial behaviour complaint

The Initial Stage: Report anti-social behaviour to the TMO estate office. We will initially try to resolve the situation with both parties, without the need for further action. This could include writing warning letters or offering mediation to help resolve the situation.

Referral to Southwark Council: If the situation does not improve we will make a referral to Southwark Council for further action. This will culminate in legal action and eviction if the problems persist and the perpetrator does not change their behaviour despite warning letters and offers of mediation.

How to report ASB

Contact us in first instance on 0203 643 6941. If the nuisance behaviour is ‘out of hours’ contact Southwark Council on 020 7525 5777 or email noiseandnuisance@southwark.gov.uk.
